Groundwork is a listener-supported weekly podcast and radio program, produced by ReFrame Ministries, that digs deeply into scripture as the foundation for our lives. Meet the team that creates each Groundwork episode.

Groundwork’s Hosts

Scott Hoezee, Co-host 

Scott joined Groundwork as a co-host in 2012. He also serves as the Director of the Center for Excellence in Preaching at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to his work at Calvin Seminary, Scott served as pastor in two western Michigan congregations in the Christian Reformed Church of North America. A graduate of Calvin Theological Seminary, Scott has authored several books including Proclaim the Wonder: Preaching Science on Sunday (2003) and Remember Creation (1998). Scott and his wife, Rosemary, have two children. He enjoys bird watching, snorkeling, and exploring the beauties and wonders of God’s great creation. 

 

Darrell Delaney, Co-host 

Darrell joined Groundwork as a co-host in 2021. He also serves as Director of Spiritual Formation with Campus Ministry at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. He earned his Master of Divinity and Graduate Certificate of Urban Pastoral Ministry from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan. He also holds a Master of Theology from Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Darrell considers it his life’s calling to create and facilitate life-giving environments where all people can thrive and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Darrell and his wife, Kia, have three children. He enjoys spending time with family, walking, reading, basketball, chess, and video games.


Groundwork’s Production Team 

 

Courtney Jacob, Senior Producer 

Courtney joined ReFrame Ministries in 2006 and has been the producer of Groundwork since it began production in 2010. Prior to Groundwork, Courtney has served ReFrame Ministries in a variety of writing and production capacities, including managing the ReFrame Ministries prayer Team and producing The Back to God Hour, the ministry’s now retired flagship radio program. A graduate of Calvin College (now Calvin University), she earned a Master of Divinity from Northern Seminary. Courtney and her husband, Luke, have three children. When she has free time, she enjoys running, quilting, and playing flute in community groups. 

 

Dodd Morris, Recording Engineer

Dodd joined Groundwork in 2010. He also serves as the Director of Integration and Evening Host for CU Radio (91.3 WCSG) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dodd has been involved with CU Radio since the late 1980s. Dodd is interested in utilizing technology to reach people for ministry and values opportunities to serve on and off the air. Dodd and his wife, Tami, were married in 1992 and enjoy serving in music and tech ministries at church. They also spend time reading, cooking, doing DIY projects, and proudly supporting their children. 

 

Jon Reeder, Post-production Supervisor 

Jon joined Groundwork and started at ReFrame Ministries in 2018. Passionate about utilizing digital media in audio and visual formats, Jon captures and edits program content for our English ministry programs as well as some of our international ministry teams. Prior to joining our team, Jon produced content for Michigan-based businesses and performed voice work for national commercials, video games, audiobooks, and animations. Jon holds a B.A. from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing and writing music, experimenting with photography, and finding the best local eats.

Cherie Hunt, Transcriptionist

Cherie joined Groundwork as a program transcriptionist in 2014. Prior to transcription work, she enjoyed a 20+-year career in Early Childhood and Family Services. She and her husband, Greg, had four sons, whom they raised in northwestern Michigan. She now resides in Kentucky’s horse country. Cherie enjoys visiting family and spending time with her seven grandchildren, fellowshipping with friends, writing, knitting, baking, and raising orchids.
