David and Bathsheba
The story of David and Bathsheba is one of the most morally challenging narratives we find in the Bible. God chose David to be king of Israel. Yet, he remained a sinful human being. This story stands as a stark example of our human reality and confronts us with our struggles with deceit and self-deception. In this Groundwork series, we study this Old Testament story to learn timeless lessons about repentance and our need for God’s grace. We’ll discuss key questions about sin, punishment, consequences, forgiveness, and why it’s vital to remain firmly rooted in the truth of the gospel: Jesus Christ died for our sins, and we are forgiven and reconciled with God.
