The Stations of the Cross: Following Jesus to Golgotha

Every year, many Christians around the world observe the season of Lent. It’s a time of intentional reflection, preparing our hearts to solemnly remember Jesus’ sacrifice and death and to joyously celebrate his resurrection on Easter. In this Groundwork series, we’ll follow Jesus to Golgotha by studying the Scriptures that inform the traditional Stations of the Cross. We’ll reflect on the meaning and significance of fourteen events from the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus’ trials, the crown of thorns, the cross, the words he speaks, and ultimately, his death on the cross before we celebrate his glorious resurrection. Together, we’ll let the Holy Spirit cultivate our faith as we remember how, in his magnificent love and grace, God accomplished our salvation and redemption through the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
