Few topics engender so many questions as the book of Revelation, the End Times, and the promised return of Jesus Christ. We observe events unfolding in history and contemporary news, and wonder if the end is near. We also want to sort fact from fiction in the conflicting teachings about these important issues in our faith. The Groundwork series and episodes below dig into the rich soil of Scripture to help us understand what we read and be encouraged as we live in anticipation of God’s coming kingdom.

Groundwork is a weekly, half-hour audio program for radio and podcast that digs deeply into Scripture as the foundation for our lives. Our current hosts, Scott Hoezee and Darrell Delaney, cultivate our understanding of God’s Word by unpacking the richness of the Bible in casual conversation and applying it with insight for today’s world.

Full Series

Revelation: A Comfort for Believers. Christians studying the book of Revelation sometimes find themselves confused and left with more questions than answers. In this Groundwork series, we examine John’s heavenly visions and the messages he received from Jesus Christ, discovering the comfort, assurance, and hope they hold for the church today.

Jesus: the Lion and the Lamb. When we read Revelation merely to decipher the End Times, we miss much of what it offers: a glimpse of what's happening right now. This series focuses on the images of Jesus Christ as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah and the Lamb who was slain. These seemingly contradictory images reveal who Jesus is and offer us comfort and assurance in our lives today.

The Christmas Thread. The promise of Christmas is woven throughout all of Scripture, foreshadowed in the Old Testament and retold in Revelation, with vivid imagery. This Advent series follows the thread of the Christmas promise from Genesis through the Psalms and Prophets to Revelation.

The Four Last Things. It’s our human tendency to want to know what the future holds. For believers, this means the End Times. This series sorts fact from fiction about what we do know and what remains a mystery about Christ’s return, the resurrection of the body, hell and judgment, and heaven.

2 Peter: Gospel Truth, False Teaching, and the Second Coming of Christ. In his second letter, Peter implores his readers to continue growing in their salvation, guard the truth of the gospel, and reject false teachings that threaten to lead them astray. In this series, we study 2 Peter to deepen our own faith, so that we can resist the cultural pressures and false teachings of our time as we await the Day of the Lord.

2 Thessalonians. In this series, we study 2 Thessalonians to receive encouragement for our faith and spiritual growth, gain a better understanding of the events surrounding Christ’s return, and acquire wisdom for living spiritually in our daily lives.

Life After Death. The Bible provides the answers we seek about heaven, hell, and the afterlife. Discover the hope of what Scripture says we can expect after death, both before and after Christ's second coming.
